Ranbir Kapoor's Highly Anticipated 'Animal' Sets Box Office Ablaze
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's crime saga, 'Animal,' featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna, has hit the theaters with a bang on December 1. Notably, the film, also releasing alongside Meghna Gulzar’s 'Sam Bahadur,' is generating significant buzz at the box office, driven by the immense popularity of its stellar cast.
The storyline revolves around Arjun Singh (Ranbir Kapoor), the son of wealthy industrialist Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor), ready to go to any lengths to protect his father. The intricate relationship between the two takes a dramatic turn when an attack is launched on Balbir Singh. Bobby Deol assumes the role of Arjun's nemesis, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays Ranbir’s wife in the movie.
The film, adorned with an 'Adults Only' certificate and spanning 203 minutes, initially had a much lengthier runtime of nearly 4 hours, as revealed by director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In a recent interview, he stated, 'The first cut of Animal was 3 hours 45 or 46 minutes. I chopped till 3:21. I have seen the film multiple times, and it is an engaging film. Ranbir is a great performer and will not let the audience relax for a second.'
Despite its 'A' certificate and extended duration, Animal is poised for a grand opening at the box office, both in India and overseas markets, as predicted by film producer and trade analyst Girish Johar. He anticipates the film to gross around Rs 100 crore globally, with a substantial portion, approximately Rs 55 crore, coming from the Hindi market.
As the curtains rise and the audience immerses themselves in this gripping crime narrative, Animal is set to leave an indelible mark on the cinematic landscape, proving that compelling storytelling and stellar performances can transcend constraints like certification and duration."
